As the AFC’s Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Alli is responsible for the institution’s overall strategy and operations. Under his stewardship, AFC has undertaken over US$1.2 billion in investments across Africa, financing high-impact projects, including a West African submarine cable, a wind farm in Cape Verde, a toll road in South Africa, a green energy plant in Ghana and a flagship road infrastructure project in Côte d'Ivoire.

Prior to joining AFC Andrew was a Partner at Travant Capital, a West Africa-focused private equity fund. Prior to co-founding Travant, he served as Country Head for Southern Africa at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector financing arm of the World Bank, where he specialised in the natural resources and telecom sectors. He was later appointed as a Country Manager for IFC, firstly for Nigeria and later for Southern Africa, where he was responsible for eight countries. During the course of his career, Andrew has been involved with investments in Africa totalling more than US$3 billion. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from King’s College, University of London (UK), an MBA from INSEAD (France) and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand (PriceWaterhouseCoopers) in London (UK).
